[VAC] 50 amp service ?

A question for you EE's.

The 50Amp plugs; 

So you're saying that the converter is just pulling one side of the
circuit, (understandable) and then using the third pin 'common'.  Do you
think it would be 15 amp then like the other 110 plug, or maybe 20?
