Susan, my wife is into antiques and she buy and sells a lot on Ebay.
Sometimes after a sale is over and the bids didn't meet the reserve she
has e-mailed the owner and struck a deal after the fact. If it doesn't
sell it's because the owner priced it too high and with the exposure Ebay
gets, the owner usually understands that they were asking too much. Most
of the time they wouldn't list it if they didn't want to sell it so they
may be open to a reasonable offer. All it costs to find out is a few key
strokes. Just a thought.
