Bobb,
 Someone posted a URL on one of the A/S lists a short while ago where a
gooseneck "Adaptor" was shown. Apparently, this thing is commercially
available.

I frankly don't see why one couldn't be fabricated in a couple of days,
probably less by a professional welding shop. I'd bet that I could do it
here in no more than 15-20 hours and a few hundred $$$ in iron. There's no
reason in the world why it couldn't be easily detachable.
