Re: [VAC] Newbie

Hi Brian with the '73 Safari,

In your note, you wrote, "I don't have the white rivets and if we don't find them, a touch up with
white paint may be in order."

Brian, why don't you go to Office Supply and get one of those pens that are used for "white out"?
Then, you can use any old rivets and there's no need to put off doing the job until white rivets
arrive.

The pens work fine if started in the vertical position before tipping them upside down and reaching
up over your head to color your roof line rivets. A good angle to approach any problem is the
try-angle. Sometimes, I try more angles than I care to admit. And occasionally, I've had to start
over again when my "bright ideas" weren't so bright after all.

PS - Picked up my battery compartment lock yesterday. Locksmith removed the broken key and made two
new ones. He told me they do that job every other day and that I'm not the only dunderhead out here.
<grin> Don't you love it when people are straight with you?

While in his store, I saw a door handle and lock that looked similar to the one in our '63 22'
Flying Cloud (with lost keys). Removed it from the FC, took it over, matched perfectly, bought it,
brought it home, installed it on FC, matched perfectly and now we have a door handle that locks and
has keys. Sometimes small accomplishments occur unexpectedly. When that happens, it's very sweet.
