Don,

The best cleaner for plastic is baking soda. Use a damp rag, dip it into
a pile of soda and scrub away. I think the alkaline somehow releases a
malevolent magnetic field that holds grime onto plastic, and it is
mildly abrasive, but not so much so as to dull the shine. BTW, Baking
soda is also the weapon of choice for anything that smells bad.
