Re: [VAC] Replacement Rims no fit

Jere,

This may sound a bit extreme, but you could remove the hub and take it in to
a machine shop so the shoulder down at the bottom that is interfering with the
seating of the Chevy rims could be turned down. This will enable the rim to slide
on all the way. This procedure is no more complicated than turning a brake drum
or flywheel, so it shouldn't be too much of an expense. Unfortunately, when I
bought my trailer a couple of days ago, I didn't have a metal turning lathe with
me to do the same.

The whole thing is hidden behind the wheel itself, so there should be too
many folks that could tell the difference just by looking at it.

BIG NOTE HERE: be sure that any center hub cap that might be mounted through
alloy rims have something to seat against before turning things down, I just
thought of this now, bacause mine has a aluminum Hub cap that fits through the
aluminum wheels.

Hope it Helps.
