Terry,
  Could you give me a rough idea of the years and models 
I might be able chase down to view this couch/futon type 
thing?  That would be most helpful. While I am most 
decidedly not shy, I don't really want to approach any of 
the newer ASs w/o knowing if it has a chance of having 
what you discribe. If it isn't vintage it's not 
interesting for me other than the ideas you mentioned.
