[VAC] wd 40 and #0000 steel wool?

hello all,

my name is mark from northern california and last week I bought my first
airstream, a 23' 1949 curtis wright. I would like to get it shined up and
two people have suggested wd-40 and #0000 steel wool. Any suggestions?

Oh, the prior owners installed a bulky, now broken, air conditioner on the
roof which I would like to remove, is it hard to find the pop up door that
fits in the hole in the ceiling?
