Jim,
Never did have luck with keeping 'fridge flames lit while traveling, the
flame is usually only 12" from the bottom vents and kept blowing out. 
I'm installing a 3-way 'fridge like I had in our last SOB.  I liked the
12volts while traveling, and I don't have to worry about blowing up the
gas stations.  I set up a relay under the hood to only allow the battery
charge/fridge operation while the ignition is on.  Will let you know
later how the new 3-way Dometic works.
