Welcome to the list.  While I am not located in Iowa, I am nearby in
Wisconsin.  My location is about 40 miles northeast of Dubuque, Iowa.  This
summer, I will be moving to the Quad Cities areal.  If you happen to be
looking for Airstream friendly shops in my area, let me know and I'll be
happy to fill you in on my experiences.

My Overlander is somewhat older than yours (1964) but the layout is likely
somewhat similar.  I thought that I had a water leak in the bath area and
it turned out that  there are two water line drains that had been left open
during the winterizing process and the water was flowing out of those
drains.  The drains may not have been factory, but looked like they were.
The drains were located below the removable panels at the bottom of the
wardrobe and closet in the bath area.  I suspect that these drains may have
been added as a result of freeze damage at some point by a previous owner
as there are only two spliced repairs in the entire system.  If I am ever
faced with significant damage in the system I will be converting to PEX as
it performed quite well in my previous home.
