Airstream stopped making the Argosy in any form in the late 80's. Airstream used
the Argosy as a test vehicle for many concepts that later appeared in the
Airstream line. An example is motorhomes, Argosy 1974 - Airstream 1979. The
early Argosy trailers did have one piece upper front caps made of steel. It was
decided that steel was not a practical option. Argosy was also Airstreams first
experiment in fiberglass construction.
