RE: [SilverStreak] 20ft. 1961 Silver Streak

I too have a 61 SS that is about 19'6", it doesn't have a model name, but I
have seen a 61 brochure that listed it as a Jet. There are Jets in the late
50's a that are the same length. Mine has a rear street side bath and shower
and a full size bed on the rear curb side. It had the water heater under
the bed, an a/c unit will be taking its place, with a tankless water heater
placed beside the fridge, using the same vent as the fridge to vent the heat
and carbon monoxide. The pod lights were standard on that model, the fridge
is next to the door on the curb side and the kitchen is opposite it on the
street side. It has a drop down add a leaf table, and 2 removable divan love
seats, that also connect and fold down to make a bed. It is like a studio
apartment on wheels. I have replaced the floor and belly pan, added a grey
water tank inside the belly. I've also replaced a few of the front panels as
they had been peppered w/ rocks over the years. I've upgraded all of the
electrical also, most of the hard work is done. I'm keeping the vintage feel
while adding all the modern conveniences, although they won't be seen to the
naked eye. I've obtained all NOS cabinet hinges and catches, old aluminum
bullet light sconces from a house in Palm Springs and what not. I've gotten
more involved in this trailer than I ever imagined I would, it has been a
lot of fun.
Enjoy
