[VAL] What's that??

    Attention all spark heads,

    What9s the thing soldered to the three position overhead fan switch for
my 1969 Caravel?  It9s about 1 3/42 long, the diameter of a cigarette and
green in color.  It appears to be a ceramic tube (does it get hot?) wound
with wire with solder posts at the ends.  It reads Mallory 1HJ  1.5.

    Can any of you help with an answer?  Is it a rheostat, a resistor or
what?  Also where can I get a replacement just like it?
