[VAL] Exterior wiring on my 1969 Caravel.

    All,

I9m making slow progress, first ascertaining just what I have in
terms of wire colors, etc, then testing again to see what works. To date
I9ve made up a wire schedule consisting of three main locations:

    A. The rear street side corner

    B. The access cover in the belly pan near the front

    C. The #10 wires from the umbilical that attach to those at the B
location.

Now to my question. What is the little electrical box pop riveted to
the frame rail at the B location and what does it do? It9s metal body is
spray painted gray as are the surrounding wires which suggests to me that
they were painted at the factory at the time of assembly.

A blue #8 wire from the umbilical is on one threaded stud and another
blue #8 wire on the other threaded stud leads to a terminal panel inside the
rear trunk door of the trailer. This metal box is about 1/22 wide, 1/22
tall by 12 long and after a quick acetone wash with a rag, I can read
Underwriters along one side of the black plastic top where the threaded
studs emerge. So it performs some sort of electrical function, just what
function, I need to ask all of you. Because it9s riveted to the frame rail
in an inaccessible space that greatly hampers easy replacement, I9m baffled
as to what it is.

There is continuity between the two studs without power to either. I
have a very good photo of it I took this morning for those further
interested.

    Thanks for any help,
