Eddie,

I had a heat strip, before I had the heat pump.

My opinion is experienced.

The heat strip is nice because it takes the chill off, and you don't 
have to fire up the furnace.

Airstreams have a drain hose so a/c water doesn't run down the side of 
the trailer.
