Chuck & Lynn -- here's a photo of the toilet area from a 1958 Flying Cloud for 
sale (actually already sold I think) in England -- a very and restored somewhat 
altered interior, although they called this the "original porcelain toilet with 
chequer plate floor, new wooden floor":

Maybe someone can say if this is a Thetford, or whatever this trailer might have 
come with -- and the original orientation, at that angle?  Also it's not clear 
whether that wooden door to the right in the photo is a sliding door, or whether 
the restorers just dispensed with a door?  Looks pretty cozy in there for a rigid 
door at the floor seam.
