    Pete,

    My only contribution to your project is to recommend West Systems
Epoxies for your repairs.  They're pretty much the standard in sailing
circles and publish How-To manuals for almost every conceivable application.

    A quick Google search came up with this that you might find of use or as
a springboard to getting more specific data:
