[VAL] 30 wt

Non-detergent oil, commonly available only in 30 wt has limited typical use
in engines, crank, and gear cases where there exists no filter or filtration
system. It is what should be used in things such as lawn mowers, and
compressors like the home models. It is also used in high volume screw
compressor systems. I agree multi grade light oil is essential in cold
weather for gear drives etc. Thick cold stiff oil is much the same as no
oil. There is not that much detergent anyway in HD oil.

The basic idea is that you don't want a detergent cleaner in a system that
cannot filter. Anyone having a good old cast iron lawn mower engine should
consider the ND 30wt, but it has to be changed depending on your usage. I
kinda like the 20W50 in my old worn cast iron mowers.

All engines use oil, and burn oil. They have to, or they would seize up. I
would be concerned with an engine that did not use about a 1/2 pint in 3k
miles. The cylinder walls and valve guides must be oiled at all times. Don't
condemn any old or new engine that uses 4 to 8 ounces of oil between
changes, because that's a good and necessary thing.

Lawn mower engines became inferior long ago, when the cast iron and forged
iron cylinders ceased to exist, the last being Lawn Boy's 2 cycle engines
now banned with all 2cycle engines. So it doesn't really matter in your lawn
mower anyway, because they are all junk and cannot last, so use any oil you
want. It won't matter. You will be forced to buy a new one about every two
years when the all aluminum cylinder is worn out and no compression can be
obtained. There is no silicon impregnation. MTD and Briggs are a national
shame and sell-out. Toro bought Lawn Boy and only the name exists. Just a
inferior Honda motor on a poor design platform with a name.

Is kinda like the I Pod. A 12 month warranty, with a design-fail 13 months
lithium ion battery that is non replaceable. The explanation is you will
need a new one anyway for the latest emerging tech product. It is essential
we play the game which is I want, I buy, I buy, I buy. Soon your cell phone
battery will also be built in, irreplaceable, and gosh....it died! Oh my,
my. I wonder if someday you'll have to buy a new car because the battery is
dead.

America has totally sold out quality and longevity with obsolescence
built-in greed. Vista is design planned to put existing computers into
obsolescence. MS is proud of that, publishes this plan, and hopes this will
boost it's stock performance. I hope no one buys Vista. That way I can
continue to use my computer and it's software that works great. It is
shameful. But I know it will be like W95, W98, and someday too soon, the new
plan software cannot work on this computer.
