[VAL] were all trailers polished shiney from factory?

QUESTION - did all AS trailers come from the factory with exterior skin 
polished to mirror-like shine? Was it in the early years only? What about 
the 1970's?

We have a 1971 Safari. Were those model years intended to be polished to 
mirror-sheen? I want to keep as much original as possible, and if 
highly-polished was not what it was meant to be, then I don't want it :)
