Re: [VAL] Toilet seal, Thetford

Darn, I've seen both model in 69's and was hoping yours was the newer
one. Parts for the 1800 are going to be tough, mostly NOS parts in
questionable condition. Some success has been had with just taking it
apart, cleaning it, lubing a few spots and put it all back together.
That's where I would start.

The standard replacement for years was the Aqua Magic IV. It has now
gone out of production and was replaced with the Aqua Magic V. That can
be seen on http://www.thetford.com/permanent_aquamagicv.cfm

Sealand also makes a line of porcelain toilets that may work.
You can see those at http://www.dometicusa.com/sanitation.php?id=standard

Just need to take some measurements, do some comparisons and decide
what's best for you. Virtually all RV parts sources can get any of these
units. One or two "mom and pop" places might still have an Aqua Magic IV
left.
Just make sure you have measured at least one time to many before you buy.
