Yes, both used some plastic parts on some models. Carefree more so. The
same parts availability challenge is present as well. Neither Carefree
or A&E continue to support the many older versions they have made. In
some cases as little as 3-4 years of support is all they are willing to
provide.
Zip Dee on the other hand still supports the very first awning they
made. Mostly because, with exception of a few changes to make it easier
to use and perhaps a little less expensive to make, it is the same awning.
Another bit of perhaps useless information. Zip Dee is an employee owned
company of only 25 or so. They do it all in house with no outside big
money. Just a good reliable product at a fair price.
