Re: [VAL] White roofs, shiny Airstreams, etc.

In all seriousness, I wonder if anybody has implemented a full-trailer
awning for hot weather situations where there's no natural shade.
It wouldn't be too hard to do for a smaller Airstream. I envision a
socket attached to the rear bumper, a socket near the front of the
tongue, two upright poles and a ridgepole. Put the ridge pole high
enough above the roof of the Airstream to allow a few inches clearance
at the closest point.
Stretch a big tarp (preferably white, and opaque) over the whole thing
and put up corner poles and guy ropes. For a trailer the size of our
Pacer a 16 x 20 canopy would do it.
It would be work to put up (and you couldn't do it in much of a wind)
but it might be worth it if you like to camp in the desert.
Our solution is to try to camp where there are trees. . .
