Hi Terry,

Welcome to the riveter's world !

The rivet tool should cut the stem off for you, but you're 
right it does take some arm muscle. You might want to look 
for a riveter that has longer handles, but after another a 
little while of working on the trailer, those muscles will come.

I found that using the shortest rivet that will get a good 
bite makes the work easier. They also make a washer that you 
can put on the back of the rivet (if you can reach it) to 
increase the surface pull.

And remember only use aluminum ones.
