Re: [VAL] Door pin

    Gerald,

Interesting that you should suggest a clevis pin. In essence that's
what I made from the 1/4-20 stainless bolt by turning the six-sided head
into a perfect round head. I also slipped a Nylon washer under that so the
washer rides on the track.

Interestingly enough the track appears to be nothing more than the
outside half of a cheap, adjustable dime store curtain track, the kind that
hook to cheap hardware you nail to the window molding except this (and the
one for the accordion door separating the front from the back half of the
living space) are straight sans the 90 degree bends at both ends. They are
held in place with two sheet metal screws driven into the overhead wood. A
pretty darned cheap solution if you ask me but at the same time, gives the
appearance of being that way from the factory. But then, who knows for
sure?

I'll run over to the hardware store and get a larger bolt after sizing
the hole with a twist drill. I'll get the Nylon washer too and try that for
a while.

It's not like the door would get much use under the best of
circumstances and less on my watch given that the Caravel is parked forever
in the back yard.

Thanks for the reinforcing thoughts and ideas, I'm on a roll now. ; - )
