Why do you folks keep referring to the old guard as "militaristic"? How many of
them were actually in the military? Does anyone know, or care?

It really hacks me off to see these remarks about the "military" way things are
done, when that doesn't really describe it. Perhaps it is the die-hard way of
refusing to accept change, but this was never the "military" way. 

Please use another term to describe the purported old guard way of doing things.
