Yes, on everything that Colin said. I would add just one thing.
Calculate carefully the distance between the upper mount for the shock
to where it will reach the lower. Otherwise you might have to shop
around for a shock that will fit. I was off by an inch and now can't
use the OEM shocks, although the shocks I do use are better anyway.
Also, don't bolt the lower mount, weld it. If you bolt it you may find
that it will set the shock out just far enough that the shock will
then rub on the tire. It is that tight a fit in some instances -
depending on whether your shocks mount horizontally or vertically.
