Re: [VAL] Shocking decision

Rob,
We have done this on several customer trailers. Just cut the old brackets
off the original axle and have them rewelded onto the Dexter Axle. Keep in
mind that Dexter will custom fabricate axles to your specification, ie.
original load rating of 2600# each axle and configure the mounting brackets
to suit installation on an Airstream. The 2300-3500# axle uses the same
parts and they vary the rod length to suit the load rating requirement.
They need to know the hub face to hub face dimension, inside of mounting
bracket to inside of mounting bracket dimension, high or low profile
brackets, drum diameter, lug configuration and the overall load rating. Once
it is delivered, redrill a couple of mounting holes and have the shock
brackets transferred. It's a lot cheaper than Henchen's. The other
alternative is to use Axis axles which come with similar requirement issues
as Dexter. www.axisproducts.com
