Re: [VAL] Economical Tow Vehicles

Hi Gang!
I just bought a 1952 25' Cruiser. One of the reasons I bought it was that
it only
ways 2,500 lbs.. I couldn't believe it so I weighed it myself on a truck
scales.
Because of the sky rocketing gas prices, I would like to buy a comfortable
vehicle that gets really good gas milage. I'm open to a mid-size truck but I'd
really like a car wagon. The guy who sold it to me towed it with a 1985
Toyata 1 ton with a large 4 cyl and got 20 mpg towing. I'm keeping in mind that
Wally Byam designed Airstreams extremely light in the late forties and early
fifties to be towed by the family sedan and the average hp then was much lower
than now. Any ideas? What do you think of a rear wheel drive inline 6 cyl
180 hp Volvo 960 wagon. I notice it has a long wheelbase. I surly don't need
a 4 door Freightliner !
Thanks!
