Re: [VAL] Gauge or thickness of 1972 airstream globetrotter aluminum skin

I've bent a lot of metal, cut a lot of sheets of it up, but have never
seen a date on it. Have also had sheets lay in the metal rack for years but
when came time to use it, cut off what was needed to make a part or repair,
and never once saw a date on the sheet of material being used. Never even saw
a "caution" or "warning" block in the TO (technical order) stating to check
date of material manufacture.
I've worked on many fighter, cargo and bomber aircraft as well as commercial
and private aircraft, and a few that went into space.
Guess you can learn something new all the time huh? Ha ha. Could be a fun
way to get the metal racks cleaned, have the young guys check it all out. Yep.
Get that done soon. Ha ha
