Your right. 2024-0 is soft, not heat treated.
If you don't want to do a chemical test to check the hardness you can simply
drop it on concrete, 2024-0 will have a dull sound and 2024-3 will have a ring
to it.
5052-H34 will ring too but it's a different tone. It's also very easy to work
with, like O material, but the edges can really cut you up if your not
careful
