Glyn, Any chance of cleaning the pilot light orifice? Sounds like the thermo-coupler is working if you can get the heater lit but not the pilot light. Given any thought at all to a tankless water heater? ;)) The whole-house system I plumbed in and had a certified electrician hook up for me is wonderful. Tom WBCCI 5303
