Re: [VAL] AGM batteries
Chris,
Don't you mean that these batteries are hooked up in "parallel" rather than
in *series*?
If they are in *series* with each other they'd be like 2 D-Cell flashlight
batteries in a flashlight providing 3-vdc if they were each 1.5-vdc.
If the batteries were side by side with their Negative sides connected
together and their Positive sides connected together you'd still have
1.5-vdc as described above in the example of the D-Cell battery.
But, you'd have more *capacity* if they are hooked up in *series* rather
than "parallel" where they'd have more voltage but less capacity due to the
higher voltage output.
I think you meant your batteries are hooked up in "parallel" rather than
*series*, didn't you?
I have 2 of the 12-vdc Optima blue top AGM batteries in our Airstream
Classic of 1995 vintage. I have tremendous storage capacity but STILL only
have 12-vdc as they are in "parallel" to each other.
If my Airstream batteries were in *series* with each other I'd have 24-vdc
which is not what I need or want.
I'd bet yours are hooked up in "parallel" rather than *series*. Correct?
