I had Tad Taylor move  my spare on my 69 Caravel from the front to 
under the hitch like the newer bambi.  Had to cut out the front 
underpan and construct a "open box" for the tire to  fit up under the 
front.  I moved it because we do not use propane.  My wife reacts to 
the fumes.  Therefore we needed to clean up the hitch reduce weight 
for a battery box.  Plan is to mount at least 4 six volt batteries in 
place of  the  propane tanks.
