Be advised that there is such a size in copper refrigeration tubing and 
older Airstreams were plumbed with soft copper refrigeration tubing in many 
cases. It is very possible that you have 5/8" soft copper just as possibly 
it is half inch that has been frozen and swollen.   5/8" copper fittings 
are available from www.plumbingsupply.com as well as many other places...
