Could that be a powered vent instead of an overhead light???

We have one like this in our 1969 rear bath trailer, it is a powered vent
that has a metal cutout frame over the opening and when the fan is turned on
the fabric covering the inside of the cutout frame lifts up like an
upside-down  umbrella, sort of.  Turn the power off and the fabric lays over
the cutout frame, blocking any entry from the outside if any bugs make past
the outside opening that is also covered.
