[VAL] FLEXIBLE SOLAR PANELS/extending hitch

I am looking into solar panels for my 69 caravel.  Do to the lack of space
on the roof, I am investigating the use of flexible panels.  The flexible
panels would be in addition to the panels mounted on the roof.  Maybe place
the flex on the awing.  Any  suggestions? Also thinking about extending the
hitch by 18 inches and the rear likewise by 18 inches.  This would give
storage for batteries and supplies.  I understand that the frame will need
to be reinforced. Anyone done this?
