Forrest,

Those are pop rivets.  They are weak when compared to Olympic, Cherry Max
and Cherry-Lok fasteners.  I would not use pop rivets anywhere except maybe
the interior skin.  These are not made for structural applications.  Forget
what they advertise about leakage - they are inexpensive fasteners which
will work loose given half a chance.

Stick with the tried and true unless you want to do as I do - at least as
strong or stronger.
