[VAL] Towing with a 98 6.5 diesel K2500 Suburban

Hi All,
 
I have a 98 K2500 Diesel Suburban with 3:73 gearing 4x4.  I was wondering if 
anyone else with one has problems towing 8000 lbs. give or take a few hundred 
pounds.  No mods on the engine.  Can not afford to kill the truck.  According 
to GM I'm under my max tow weight.  They list the max as 8600 lbs.
