My 64 GT has the propane lamp on the street side, end of the cabinets and
over where the dining table sets up.  This seems a good spot to me and has
caused no problems. BTW,  I just came back from a ski hut trip to a cabin
(near Eagle, CO) and all the lighting was propane lamps - it is adequate
but not great for reading - we used our headlamps for reading and game
playing.
