[VAL] Propane light

Go to www.lehmanhardware.com you should be able to get it. They are in Ohio
Amish country and have every conceivable non electric thing in the world. A
very good catalog on line. All parts are available there.
If this isn't a good URL just keep surfing, you will find it.

My 1969 had two propane lights. One in the bathroom was wonderful for bath
time and another in the front area. For those of us who like to boondock,
they are a gift from heaven.

As someone mentioned, have a window cracked. My 1961 Bambi has just one the
kitchen area and it will heat the whole trailer in the evening. If you mount
it, it is best to mount a baffle above it so the body interior does not get
too hot. We used a piece of aluminum mounted on some spacers and the screwed
directly to the aluminum interior panel. It extends about a quarter inch +/-
and works very well. Mine got damages on the Panama caravan and still need to
get some replacement parts.

To prevent the mantle from breaking, tie a shear ladies scarf over the whole
globe. The previous owner of the first Airstream I had (1958) told me that
trick and it works. Prevents the air currents from the jiggling down the road
causing the mantle to break. Yes Coleman mantles will usually work but the
genuine Humphrey mantles are far superior.

About Boondocking. I am staying at Slab City, CA for a couple of months this
winter. I joined up with a group called"The Oasis" It is for both singles and
couples but most are single. In a certain area through the years they have
built a shelter called the "Clubhouse" where some meals are prepared in an
immaculate kitchen, Happy hour at 3 PM, carpool to Bombay Beach American
Legion for Sunday breakfast, There is a real community here that looks out
after each other. This morning we had French toast, sausage, pineapple and
coffee. $3.50. All money collected is used here. We have 4 solar panels that
handle the Clubhouse, Library, shop, and Game room. Each is an old abandoned
trailer that has been gutted and refurbished. The Library has many books,
reference books, maps, videos, CD's and DVD's for borrowing.

I know this is long but I seldom write. Hope I haven't bored you all to
death.

Kathy, enjoying the sun in S. Cal.
