I'd be careful using halogen bulbs. They put out a lot more heat than
regular bulbs. Even with special fixtures there is a higher risk of
fire. I'd agree with Glyn. Conservation will probably pay off better
than any other course of action. I know that the flourescents are ugly,
but a couple of well place lights can be used to give some light through
out the trailer. I quess you're trying to extend the off-grid time you
can use your trailer. I've thought about getting a small generator set,
but the noise and weight of the thing puts me off. As for the diode
lights, they are very efficient. However the light is just as ugly as
flourescent light. It has a cold blue hue and distorts colors. Of course
there always radioactive tritium.....
