Jim, it's hard to be sure about these things without
seeing them.  But, I would say that if you seal up an
opening big enough to let wasps into your Airstream,
you will probably be _preventing_ a moisture problem,
not causing one.

You may want to inspect the floor of the storage area
for rot.  You may also want to step on the bumper and
see if it moves much relative to the bodywork.  Either
condition would be a sign of water damage.  I had to
replace about 3 feet of floor in the back of mine. 
The water came in at the frame rails and along the
bodywork between them.

Good luck with the wasps and let's hope there's no
water damage.
