I forgot to mention carrying a gadget for inflating tires.  It is a little 
compressor that runs off the cigarette lighter, has a light built in as well for 
warning drivers if you have to use it at night.  I have used it many times to 
reinflate a tire with a slow leak so I could get to a service station.  They 
are not fast, but they do work well, cost very little and have a built in 
guage.
