Having a nice day?  If you had matching threads and used teflon tape there
should be no leaks.  Note I said "should".  Are you sure that the tank
doesn't have pipe threads on the water inlet and outlet?

I tried to look this up but couldn't find anything on the net and have
nothing in my stuff either.  There must be a mismatch in there somewhere.
