[VACList] Re: VACList Digest V3 #194

Don-

I have a '69 Caravel and '03 Chevrolet Avalanche--same situation as you.
The trailer was sold to me with the levelizing hitch and anti-sway bar
(friction style) that attaches on one side of the trailer stay, then back to
the hitch.

I have pulled this trailer several times under different conditions with and
without the levelizing hitch and sway bar. My experience was that I could
feel the trailer "move freely" behind the Avalanche when on 2-lane roads at
speeds over 40 mph. (oncoming traffic present)

In my gut, I an not real comfortable towing the trailer without these items
connected. Kind of feels like it could get away in a panic stop situation
or similar.

For what it's worth.
