Re: [VACList] Hayes Lemmerz Energize 3 brake controller

Greetings Mike!

I have used Hayes Lemmerz brake controllers for the last twenty years and
have been quite pleased with each that I have owned. My personal
recommendations would be:

Micro Control HD Plus with the optional Remote Control - - see the link
below:

http://www.hayes-lemmerz.com/products/html/micro_control.html

Energize XPC with the optional Remote Control - - see the link below:

http://www.hayes-lemmerz.com/products/html/energize_xpc.html

I have used the Micro Control HD Plus in my '65 Dodge tow vehicle since the
controller was introduced several years ago, and it is far superior to the
hydraulic Reese unit that it replaced. Once you try a controller with the
remote control "panic button" you won't want to go back to a standard
control especially if the dash of your tow vehicle has a severe slope
meaning that the controller must be mounted in such a way that the reach in
an emergency is uncomfortable at best.

The Energize XPC has just been installed in my '75 Cadillac tow vehicle, and
it is at least as good if not a bit better than the HD Plus (which I
understand has been discontinued). While the parent company Hayes-Lemmerz
is currently in bankruptcy proceeding; I was confident enough in their
earlier products that I had no reservations about purchasing the new
Energize XPC for my Cadillac.

Good luck with your decision!

Kevin
