RE: [VACList] 1967 safari

The windows on the '66 to '68 Airstreams, while cool looking in a
curved frameless 1960's style, are only replaceable with flat acrylic,
and the catches and openers are just as hard to find. Many people
resort to machining their own.

Other thing unique to that year is the height of the Vietnam war and
the copper shortage. Some trailers were made with aluminum wiring.
Aluminum wiring is fine if taken care of properly, but we've all seen
how people treat older trailers before saved by an Airstream
aficionado. Just be prepared to have it inspected for condition and
proper fittings by an electrician.

As a whole, the style those 3 years is very classic and sleek with the
5 panel ends, rounded shape and all glass windows. They shine up
nicely, and still have the wood cabinet interiors. The Zolatone get
replaced in many areas by vinyl wall covering that on some trailers has
a tendency to ooze goo. (unknown as to why)
