To me, this doesn't sound right.  If it runs on electric it should run on
gas if the gas system is functional.

Two very common malfunctions are:

1.  Rust flakes from inside the burner barrel falling down and clogging up
the burner.  Fairly easy to clean out.

2.  The flue baffle is wired to the cap at the top of the burner barrel.
Trailer bouncing can dislodge the cap and pull the flue baffle up and out of
position.  Easy to check.  Make sure the cap is in place and the baffle is
connected to it by the wire.

Check the Dometic Manual in the members section at the VAC website.  If you
don't have access to that let me know and I can send you something from mine
that shows the inner-mysteries of the gas system of the fridge.
