I suggest you go slow with that line of thinking about using the factory for
updating things unless the money tree in your front yard is full of green
waiting to be picked.

If you'd like help figuring out how to take care of "a number of little
quirks," take them one at a time and tell us about them.  I think you'll
find members on this list responsive to offering ways for dealing with
quirks.

If you've been reading this list's emails for the last few weeks, you've
seen occasions where replies have been akin to personal tutorials. That
occurs off list, too.

Plus, if you're inclined to do a little homework on your own,  the world's
most comprehensive Airstream Archive is available to you and it's
free. Combine that with the email discussion on this VACList and you might
find manageable solutions readily available.
