Re: [VACList] vintage tow vehicle questions

Scott,
I do not have any actual particulars as to rated towing capacity of the
Imperial, but am quite certain it is more than adequate to tow your
Overlander. I use a 78 New Yorker w/ 440 to tow my 77 Excella. I found that
my 78 Chrysler was rated for 7000 lb towing capacity; better than even the
Cadillac with its 500 ci motor in '76. I am not certain about emphasis on
towing capacity in the 60's, but do know that Chrysler put heavy emphasis on
towing capacity in the 70's. You may want to consider updating to a dual
reservoir master cylinder for safety reasons, but the Imperial will make
quite a dramatic combination on the road.

Good luck,
John
